I am taking the PN nclex in a few weeks and I have been studying out of the saunders RN book.?
Q: So I was wondering for those who have taken the PN nclex if this book is a little much for this exam? Does anyone have any pointers or study suggestions I will be more than happy to hear them?!?! :} So nervous!!

Not long ago, I wrote a piece on the push to require a doctorate of nurse practitioners within the scope in the years to come. I remain skeptical that a PhD will add much to the clinical expertise of IP, with whom I am already impressed enough to question the need for more training. For those who want to pursue a more academic, research or administrative career, a PhD probably gives many advantages. But I wonder about the benefits to be required for clinical practice.
Anyway, as I mentioned in this piece, I work with three nurse practitioners.All have extensive experience in clinical practice in some medical centers world-class in the region, and one of them teaches nursing students at a prestigious local college. I have great respect for all three years, and was curious to know what they thought of the push to require a PhD in clinical practice.
